Lighthouse Clinic Outreach at the Broadway Centre
Sandown Town Council supported by Sandown Beach Lifeguards recently welcomed the Lighthouse Clinic to the Broadway Centre for two full days of free skin cancer checks, delivered as part of their community outreach programme. The event saw an exceptional turnout, with many residents taking the opportunity to have moles and skin changes assessed by qualified clinicians.
Because of this strong response, the Lighthouse Clinic is exploring return visits to offer further free appointments in the future.
Check Your Skin — Know the Signs
The Lighthouse Clinic encourages everyone to regularly check their skin using the ABCDE method:
- A – Asymmetry
- B – Border irregular or blurred
- C – Colour changes or multiple colours
- D – Diameter larger than 6mm
- E – Evolving in size, shape, or sensation
These simple checks help you spot early warning signs of skin cancer.
