Sandown Town Councillor Joan Solomon was delighted to present certificates to several local shops in recognition of their entries in this year’s Seasonal Shop Window Competition.
Mayor Cllr Alex Lightfoot said:
“It was fantastic to see so many shops and businesses take part this year, coupled with the creative designs by local schoolchildren at the library. The atmosphere in Sandown has been very festive, which helped build excitement for Sandown’s Christmas Fun Day.”
Sandown Town Council supported the Fun Day, collaborated with local schools on the library window display, and helped organize the Christ Church Carol Concert with the Sandown & Shanklin Military Band. The Council also funded the Christmas tree, festive lighting.
“This competition highlights the importance of the High Street to our town. Everyone’s efforts truly make a difference during the festive season. My heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the many events this year. Congratulations to our winner of the shop window competition, Shore Things, to Everything Chocolate in second place and Guys and Dolls in third place. Kate’s Cottage and Sandown First Class Barbers were also highly commended.
