Children at the Bay School Primary School were invited to unleash their creativity and festive spirit in the Town Council’s Christmas Drawing Competition.
The competition encourages young artists from the local school to create a Christmas‑themed drawing every year with all entries displayed in the windows at Sandown Library next to the Towns Christmas Tree. The initiative aims to celebrate local talent, bring families together, and spread joy throughout the community during the holiday period.
This year the theme was Christmas characters with the winning three designs from each key stage receiving a traditional Christmas selection pack.
Cllr Alex Lighfoot, Mayor of Sandown, who is coordinating the competition, said:
“This is a wonderful opportunity for children to express themselves and we’re excited to showcase their artwork and bring some festive cheer to our community.”
