The Role of a Councillor
Councillors constitute the council and are democratically elected by the local population. The role of a local councillor is not defined in law but is essentially to represent the local community, contributing to decisions made by the council. This can include responding to residents’ questions, investigating their concerns, leading campaigns on their behalf.
