Working parties are groups of up to six councillors who come together to undertake work relating to projects within their particular workstream.
They offer the opportunity to use a variety of more diverse working methods, including making visits, obtaining expert advise, and involving residents, stakeholders and experts to encourage community participation and public engagement.
Working parties cannot make decisions, they make recommendations to full council.
Derelict Buildings Task Force
The Task Force will tackle issues related to specific buildings.

The Task Forcce will be supported by Cllrs Debbie Andre and Ian Ward in their capacity as Isle of Wight Councillors.
Young Futures
The working party will be purely focused on Youth and Young People including the Bay Youth Project, working with youth organisations, the Town Hall and engagement with Schools.

The working party would addressing local challenges, tackling anti-social behaviour, HMO issues, and vandalism as well as working with community groups like Green Town Volunteers, TWG, Warm Spaces arts and cultural activities, Carnival, Police, Sandown Town Council Public Realm. Members also request the Enviroment be included in the workstream.

Town Centre Revival
The Working Party would be focused on the Highstreet and the seafront and economic and cultural regeneration of the Town Centre, not just the Highstreet. Christmas Funday, Sprint, Carnival, empty shops/Highstreet properties and performance spaces.
