Derek Poole and John O'Brien from the Sandown & District Historical Association spend many of their Friday mornings tucked away in a corner of the Broadway Centre, reading through and filming old copies of the Isle of Wight Chronicle. In an attempt to make them more widely available they have recorded the copies onto disc so that Members of the Public may get an idea what was happening in Sandown almost one hundred years ago. If you follow the links, they  will take you to sections of the editions from 1912. We haven't been able to put all that John & Derek have done due to a lack of computer space, but it will give you a flavour of what people were reading and doing then.  We wil, periodically,  change the pages on view, until we can get the capacity to ensure that everything can be viewed correctly.
